Eddie Bloodworth, of Terrell, passed away peacefully with family at his side on the morning of November 15, 2019. He was born December 24, 1951 in Ft. Worth, Tx and was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Fisher Bloodworth and brother, D.A. Bloodworth.
Eddie graduated from Henrietta High School in 1969 and enlisted with the US Navy for 10 years during the Vietnam war serving on the USS Ranger. After his honorable discharge, Eddie worked for Canon Medical Systems as a technician. His innate ability to interpret medical equipment functionalities and how they could be maintained for optimal performance enabled Eddie to have a well-known and respected status for excellence in his profession. In his free time, Eddie enjoyed hunting and building anything that could keep his hands and mind busy. He loved time spent with family and friends and everyone loved his ability to make others laugh at the stories he shared. Traveling was also something Eddie enjoyed especially with Vicky, his wife, and his grandkids and great grandkids. Eddie liked watching sports and was a dedicated Dallas Cowboys fan of over 59 years, staying a true Cowboys fan through the good and bad seasons! His love for his family and friends will be a wonderful legacy treasured by those whose lives Eddie touched.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 26 years, Vicky Ables Bloodworth of Terrell; daughter, Michelle Bloodworth and husband Kirk Acord of Grandview, TX; son, Stewart Bloodworth and wife, Nicole Sims, of Mansfield, TX; grandchildren: Alyssa Olvera and husband, Chris, Cheyenne, Logan and Bailey Childress, Kaid Acord, Brody, Brock and Brett Bloodworth, and Taylor and Taryn Sims; great grandchildren: Destiny, Jayden, Kylie, Bravin, Breia and Bralia; father, Durwood Bloodworth and wife, Margaret; siblings: Ginger Ross and husband, Steve, Doug Bloodworth and wife, Karen, Mark Bloodworth, and Cindy Ross as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral service will be at 2:30pm, Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Max Slayton Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Oakland Memorial Park with military honors. The family will receive friends 5:00pm to 7:00pm, Tuesday, November 19, at the funeral home.
