Peninah Fruit-Fagan was born on 29 Jan 1774, in North Carolina. She is the daughter of John Fruit and Elizabeth Pugh-Fruit, she married William Fagan on 22 January 1801. Peninah and William later moved to Illinois and they had four children together; Elizabeth, Hannah, John and George.
