Married: Minerva Jane Elder 1855

Enlisted 1861 in Company H, 25 Regiment, Tennessee Infantry. Promoted to 3rd Sergeant June 1864. Killed in the Battle of Petersburg (VA) April 1865 just before the surrender. His comrades who saw him killed carried his remains home to his family.

He is buried at Eck Davis Cemetery near Monroe, Overton County, Tennessee, his grave marked only by a field rock
