Sheila Ann Shifflett, 54, of Charlottesville, died on Thursday, September 15, 2011, in a local hospital. She was born on October 3, 1956, in Charlottesville, the daughter of Doris Hall Shifflett and the late Bennie Millard Shifflett.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bennie M. Shifflett Jr.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son, Scott Walton of Charlottesville; one sister, Patricia Marshall and her husband, Donnie, of Dyke; and three brothers, Cliff Shifflett and his wife, Lisa, of North Garden, Barry Shifflett and his wife, Tammy, of Huntersville, North Carolina, and Craig Shifflett and his wife, Tessa, of Ruckersville; nieces and nephews, Tyler and Samantha Marshall, Kristen, Joshua and Hannah Shifflett, Blake, Katelyn and Lauren Shifflett, and Alycia and Heather Shifflett; and uncles, aunts and numerous cousins.

She was a well-loved bartender for many local establishments and was currently employed as an administrative assistant for S & N Communications in Louisa.
She was a diehard fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Dale Earnhart Jr. and University of Virginia athletics.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 20, 2011, at the Teague Chapel. Interment will follow in Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Earlysville. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Monday, September 19, 2011, at the Teague Funeral Home.
The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Sheila's friends for their care and compassion, especially Bobbie Gayle and Kathy. They would also like to thank Dr. William Grosh and Dr. James Larner and the staff of 8 West at the University of Virginia.

Flowers are welcome or donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Sheila's name. Friends and family should feel free to wear any apparel of her favorite sports teams. Friends may sign the guest register at teaguefuneralhome.com.
