He left us to be with the lord on Sunday, November 10, 2019. Johnny was a resident of Westminster, Colorado at the time of passing.

Johnny was born to Robert and Emily Duran (Late). He grew up with his three brothers and one sister: Robert Duran (wife Lori), Randy Duran (wife Josephine), Tony Duran (Late), Liz Sandoval (Joe). He loved them all dearly, but he was sure to let them know he was the baby of them all!

Johnny had 5 wonderful children, four boys and one girl, Christopher (Johnny) Nuanes (Rosie), Dominic Nuanes, Angelo Duran, Emilio Duran (Breanna), and Sara Rivera (Roman). He also leaves to cherish his memory fourteen (14) grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

He was loved by so many; he will be remembered for his humor, smile, and great personality! On his free time he enjoyed his oldies but goodies music and laughing.

My dear brother Johnny and I had such a close bond since the first day I laid eyes on him. To this day I remember being so excited to meet my baby brother. He was a premature baby and was not able to come home with my mom because he was only a 4 pound baby. The day we picked him up a nurse brought him out to us and he gave me the biggest smile there could be on a baby's face.

As he grew up I became very attached to him and gave him a lot of attention. Every week when I would get my employment check, I always brought home a gift for him. One time I forgot and he about had a fit. All throughout the years, anytime he needed something I was there for him. He went with me everywhere.

Johnny along with my two other brothers involved themselves with the sport of boxing. He became to be one of the best armature fighters in Colorado. He won 3 golden glove state championships, and 2 regional championships where he participated in nationals. He could of went pro but decided to not go further.

What I miss about my brother was his joking with me. He would call me and say is Booby there. Until his passing, he called me 2-3 times a day until his last couple of months. He separated himself with the worst news and took it all in alone.

Ever since our Mom passed, he was never the same anymore. He suffered the addiction of alcoholism for so many years. Many rehabilitation's, being a church member, and hospital stays. He was unable to control this terrible addition. All his family and friends did the best to show our care and love and always prayed and hoped the day would not come that he would be gone.

To this day and always, I will never accept losing my baby brother. He was my world. May God keep him safe along with my Mom Emily and my Brother Tony until we reunite and meet again. I will always carry the privileged of being his big brother and his generous spirit.

His birth name was Raymond. However, he choose to be called Johnny.

If you are reading this,
you know.
The empty hole,
the sleepless nights,
the sad holidays.
The missing jokes
the empty place,
the broken family.
If you are reading this,
you know.
How it feels to lose a brother.
If you are reading this,
you know.
This message is for you.
You'll never be an only child
even if you stand alone.
Your brother is yours
no matter where he roams.

I'm so lost without you.
