Robert S. Arnold, Jr., age 78, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the home of his daughter following an extended illness.

Mr. Arnold was a lifelong resident of Church Hill and was a member of the Mountain View Baptist Church. He retired from Eastman Chemical Company with 30 plus years of service, after retiring he worked for the City of Church Hill and worked a brief stint at the Holston Valley Hospital.

He is preceded in death by the mother of his children; Nannie Lou Arnold, Parents; Robert D. Arnold and Ophia Smith Arnold, Brother; Dwayne Arnold and his granddaughter; Amanda Jones.

Survivors include his wife Shirley Arnold, Daughter; Teresa Henegar and husband, David, Son; Mike Arnold and wife Julie, Stepchildren; Jerome Arnold and wife Amy, Delena Ward, Melinda Nelson and husband Shane. Grandchildren; Holly Humphreys and husband Matt, Sophia, Olivia and Adam Arnold, Evan Arnold, Mitchell McKinney, Landon Arnold and Jace Nelson. 7 Great Grandchildren. Sister; Judy Christian and husband Jimmy. Several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at the Johnson-Arrowood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Don Cradic and Evan Arnold officiating. Music will be provided by Holly Humphreys and Mike Arnold.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 13 at the Church Hill Memory Gardens with Mitchell McKinney, Albert Atkins, Herman Dobbs, Sam Manis, Joey Arnold and Jerome Arnold serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:00 PM Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to nurse Jackie Reeves and the staff of Suncrest Hospice and a very special thank you to his caregiver Dwight Berry and to his precious sister Judy for the wonderful deserts she prepared for her brother Robert over the many years.
