Clarence Ray Atwood, age 88, died July 27, 2003 at his home of natural causes. Born December 13, 1914 to Agnes Louisa and John William Atwood in Meeker, Colorado.
Married Vera Jordan on October 16, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. Served in the US Navy in World War II. Active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in several positions. He loved to fish and hunt.
Survived by his wife; son, John William (Karen) Atwood of Bismark, ND; daughters, Vickie-Lyn (Steve) Thomas of West Valley City, UT; Linda Rae (Darrell) Marriott of West Jordan, UT; Elaine Kay (Richard) Noyce of South Jordan, UT; 17 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Laura (Shirl) Olsen.
Preceded in death by six brothers; three sisters; one daughter and one grandson.
A viewing will be held Friday, August 1st, 7-9 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 2nd, 11:00 a.m. at the Cannon 3rd Ward, 1301 South 1200 West, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the General Missionary Fund of the LDS Church.
