John Burch Bagwell, affectionately known as "Bag" or "Big Chief", crossed over to heaven on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Grandview Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

John was born on October 26, 1955 in Barberton, Ohio to Ellen and Fred Bagwell.

John attended public school in Huntsville, Alabama and graduated from S. R. Butler High School in 1973. He enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged on December 6th, 1976.

He received a bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering from Mississippi State University on May 9th, 1980 and a MBA from Auburn University on August 26th, 1986. He started and owned his own construction firm, B&C Construction, to his retirement.

John married Lou Ellyn Davis on August 15th, 1989 in Hawaii. John is survived by three sons, five grandchildren and two sisters.

His parents preceded him in death. John's last years were an inspiration to his family and friends as he bravely battled multiple health issues. He had a sweet relationship with Jesus. He will be forever loved and missed by his family. He will be laid to rest at Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Veteran's Day. Semper fi.
