Helen Mary Lois was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma November 20, 1919, the only child of Elmer Adelbert and Nellie Deane (Shipley) Bement. Her father was an accountant and her mother a homemaker.

Helen met Marvin E. Reecher, a Minister of Music, when he asked her to be his piano accompanist. They married July 27, 1941 at Boston Avenue Methodist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They had 58 years together before his passing. Three children, one daughter and two sons were born to this union. There are also three grandchildren and three great grandchildren in her family.

A lifelong Tulsan Helen attended Kendall Elementary, Wilson Jr. High School, Central High School and three years at University of Tulsa. She was an accomplished organist and pianist as well as an assistant to her husband who was Director of Choirs. She played the harpsichord that was built for the Messiah productions at Asbury and Redeemer.

Helen loved to travel and was tour director for European Travel retiring in 1999. Her love of travel all around the world was aided by a TWA pass provided by her daughter who was a fight attendant for 38 years. She saw the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany where she visited three times. She helped to tear down the Berlin Wall. In 1972 she made an around the world trip.

Helen was a member of Boston Avenue Methodist Church;, Asbury Methodist Church, Redeemer Covenant Church and was attending First Presbyterian Church in her final days. She was a member of the Rotary Ann's and Hyechka Club of Tulsa.

Travel, bridge and embroidery were her hobbies. Oklahoma was her favorite song and her most loved foods was lamb.

Her words of wisdom for others "Travel all you can and learn from other cultures".
