George Thomas “Tom” Evans, age 76 of Paris, TN, died Monday, November 4, 2019, at his residence.
He retired as the owner & operator of G.T. Evans Express for over 20 years. Tommy loved his cats and enjoyed caring for them. He attended the Nazarene Church in Paris.
Tom was born July 5, 1943, in Paris, TN, to the late Carl Atlas Evans and the late Frenzie Pearl McFarland Evans.
He was married May 12, 2003, to Sandra Mary Evans, who preceded him in death on Mar 8, 2008.
He is survived by his four daughters, Valerie McClanahan of Illinois, Christina Hughes of Texas, Karyn Evans of Illinois, and Carole Cates of Illinois; five sisters, Margaret Alene Evans of Paris, TN, Mattie Winona Tyler of Portage, MI, Rebecca Jean Evans of Paris, TN, Sarah Kathalene Gross of Colfax, NC, and Teresa Dale Faggart of Rockwell, NC; one brother, Robert Lee Evans of Lewisburg, TN; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Lowe and Patricia Evans; and two brothers, Donald Ray Evans and Carl Atlas Evans, Jr.
Arrangements are being handled by Ridgeway Funeral Home 201 Dunlap St., Paris, TN, 38242. The body is to be cremated. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
