ALONZO S. CURCHIN JR., (Lonnnie) 85, of Red Bank, NJ passed away peacefully Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Meridian Health and Rehab, Red Bank. Born in Long Branch, Lonnie was raised in Little Silver but spent most of his adult life in Red Bank. He was a lifelong member of the Embury Methodist Church, Little Silver. He graduated from Red Bank High School in 1942. Lonnie served in the Army during World War II as a surgical technician. He retired in 1973, after 26 years of service, as a sergeant with the Red Bank Police Dept. He also worked as a security guard at Riverview Medical Center. Lonnie was an exempt member of Relief Engine Company, Red Bank. He had a lifelong love of fishing, which he enjoyed with his son. He was predeceased by his parents, Anna Mabel and Alonzo S. Curchin, Sr., and two brothers, Mortimer and Frank H. He is survived by a daughter Pamela Curchin of River Plaza, his son Douglas and his wife Priscilla of Lincroft and a grandson Christopher of Lincroft. Services were handled by Thompson Memorial Funeral Home of Red Bank.
