Daughter of John Shupp and Christina Metzger.

Sarah Catherine Shupp was christened at Salem Union Church. The sponsors were Wilhelm Newhart and Julianna Metzger.

Sarah Shupp, second wife of Reuben Meckes, was married four times. Her first husband was William H. Kresge, son of Philip Jr. and Eve (Weiss) Kresge. Her second husband was Jacob C. Miller. Reuben Meckes became her third husband.
After Reuben's death in 1889, Sarah married Lewis Lichtenwalter on 30 July 1892. They were married at Salem Church at Gilbert by Rev. S. B. Stupp.

Sarah (Shupp) Kresge Miller Meckes Lichtenwalter is buried next to her fourth husband under the name "Lichtenwalter" in St. Matthew's Church cemetery at Kunkletown.

She had one child by Reuben Meckes:
Reuben Herbert Meckes b. 2 Apr 1885.
