Ernest Griego, 71, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque passed away on October 25, 2019 after a long illness.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcos and Vivian Griego, his brother and sister-in-law, Nick and Theresa Griego, and his niece, Darlene R. Chavez.

He is survived by his wife Virginia (Gina) Griego, his beloved daughters Carla G. Tennyson, and husband Paul, and Christen Griego-Fullbright, and husband Robert. He had three grandchildren whom he adored, Gabriel Tennyson, Leslie Tennyson, and Lucas Fullbright. He is also survived by his siblings Betty, Sylvia, Rachel, Sadie, Mary Ann, Roger, Marcos Jr., and Eileen, as well as sister-in-law Cecilia, and brothers-in-law Joe, Leroy, Carlos, and Paul (Mosca). He also had many Godchildren, nieces, nephews and friends who will miss him dearly.

Ernest graduated from Albuquerque High School where he learned the trade of Welding. He was an extremely hardworking man who ran his own successful business, Griego’s Portable Welding, for over 30 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. His greatest joy was to spend time with his three grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Gabriel Tennyson, Ronnie Candelaria, Aaron Candelaria, Carlos Candelaria, and Steven Griego.
Honorary pallbearer was be Lucas Fullbright.
