Clifford G. Caffey, age 88, of Rockdale passed away early Wednesday morning, October 30, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. with the visitation at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Clifford was born October 18, 1931 in Milam County in the Tracy Community to Garland and Iona (Reed) Caffey. He lived most of his life in Rockdale except for seven years in Bryan. After his retirement he returned to Rockdale where he lived the past 32 years. In 1959 he began working for the U. S. Postal Service in Rockdale then transferred to the Post Office in Bryan where he retired in 1987 as the Manager of Customer Service.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Rockdale. Clifford was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Rockdale VFW Post 6525 and a charter member of the Rockdale Country Club. On November 18, 1972 he and Joy Dieckman were married in Cameron.

He was preceded on death by his parents, Garland and Iona Caffey; and step-daughter, Vicki Currie.

Surviving are his wife, Joy Caffey of Rockdale; sons, Russell Caffey and wife, Arleen of Rockdale, Jeffrey Caffey and wife, Cathy of New Braunfels; daughters, Brenda Towns and husband, Richard of Rockdale, Penney Muston and husband, Dwayne of Rockdale; step-son, Dale Currie and wife, Donna of Rockdale; step-daughters, Debbie Currie of Ventura, California and Linda Sjogren and husband, Keith of Whitehouse; sister, Floye Nell Gilleland of Cameron; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
