Betty Sue Jones passed away Saturday evening, October 26, 2019, surrounded by her family. Her celebration of life will be held Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at 11:00 am at Northside Baptist Church where she was an active church member since 1959. Burial will follow the service at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Betty Sue was born on the family farm in Sumter County, Georgia, on February 21, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Ruel Lester and Connie Mae Jones Bradley. She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Royce A. Jones. Royce and Betty Sue started their lives together in Tift County in 1959. She was a dedicated homemaker serving throughout her life as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She created a welcoming home and sharing kitchen for 60 years. Her ministry in life was to provide for and serve all that came her way.
Betty Sue is survived by one daughter and three sons, Dwight and Joni of Tifton, Jason and Scott, life partners of Athens, Georgia, Jeremy and Cheryl of Tifton, and Jonathan and Betsy of Tifton ; her eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Ruel Lester Bradley, Jr. and James Gordon Bradley.
She leaves behind many dear lifelong friends in the Tifton community.
