Myrtle Tuttle Hemingway was born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin on March 31, 1876 to Aaron Hemingway and Olive Nickerson and died on October 11, 1952 in Steele County, Minnesota.

She married Maurice Joseph Lonergan on June 28, 1899 at Bath, Minnesota.

Maurice was a graduate of Pillsbury Academy in Owatonna. He taught school for 12 years in Steele County. The family lived in Berlin township in Steele County. Maurice and Myrtle moved to Rochester about 1940 where Maurice was employed by St. Mary's Hospital.

12 children were born to this union: Malcolm, Elaine, Leona, Susie, Olive, Elaine, James, Alice, Paul, Kenneth, Gertrude, Creta and Mary.

Myrtle's siblings: Elsie Reece, Lulu Randall, Elwin Hemingway, Elwin's twin brother who died in infancy and Eva Sorenson.

Myrtle is buried in the Aiden Cemetery.
