Thomas A. Barfield 1937 - 2019 Obituary

Thomas Aubrey Barfield was born on August 15, 1937 in Wausau, FL and died on October 25, 2019 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, FL.
Aubrey grew up on a farm in rural Bay County. He entered the US Air Force after high school as an aircraft technician. Aubrey served for 21 years retiring honorably at the rank of Master Sergeant. His career included 2 tours in Vietnam, and he was honored with the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Airman's medal. Aubrey retired in 1977 and returned to school earning his AA degree. He operated his own business, Aubrey's Acoustical, for over 20 years.
Aubrey was active in his church all his life, including service as a deacon, choir leader, Sunday School teacher. He was also heavily involved with Sacred Harp singing and attended as many as he could.
Aubrey is survived by his wife, Janette Brewer Barfield; daughter, Ada Guinn and her husband Richard; granddaughter, Shannan McKenzie and her husband Patrick; and grandson Brendan Guinn. He is also survived by his brother Oid Barfield and 5 sisters: Margaret Spurlock, Jewell Rowland, Vicki Aplin, Vivian Vickery and Pauline Pruett. Aubrey was predeceased by his parents, John and Pauline Barfield; sisters Ernestine Pipkin and Juanita Hill; and his son Thomas Jeffrey Barfield.
A time of Visitation will be held at Heritage Gardens Funeral home, Niceville, FL on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral service will be held at Rosemont Baptist Church, Niceville, FL on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at noon. Interment will follow in Early Cemetery.
