Civil War Veteran. Enlisted May 4, 1861, into the U. S. Navy. Rank: Landsman. Served aboard the USS Ohio and the USS South Carolina. Lost overboard in the Gulf of Mexico, Oct. 23, 1863, while in his country's service on the gunboat USS Kittatinny.

Stone cleaned Sept. 28, 2010, by T.J. Cullinane, a member of the Gilman E. Sleeper Camp #60, SUVCW, as part of his Eagle Scout project.
