Indenmon B. McWhirter, 83, died Saturday, May 12, 2007 at his home in Canton Twp., MI He was born July 3, 1923, in Madison County, Alabama.Son of Landon Claude McWhirter and Samantha Laminda Moore. He was a former resident of Detroit, MI.

Mr. McWhirter was a retired truck driver and worked for many years as a Teamster. He enjoyed his retirement years. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He married Ruby Alene Baker Webster in Akron, Summit County, Ohio 13 March 1948. Daughter of Jesse I. Baker and Amanda Lewis.

Surviving are daughters Sonja Ellis, of California, Sandra Chester (Jim), of Shelby Twp. , Constance Frank (Steve), of Harrison Twp. Samantha Barnes , of Alabama (Paul) Sons, Jesse, Tennessee Richard (Barbara), of Ypsilanti, Michael (Diane); of Madison Heights, 29 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by daughter Amanda Golden formerly of Alabama.
