Sarah was the 5th child of Isaac Zane, a native of Wheeling, VA who had been taken prisoner by the Indians when he was a young boy. He was held in captivity until he was old enough to marry; he married a beautiful maiden, Myeerah Tarhe, of mixed Wyandotte & French blood.
Sarah married Robert "O no ran do Roh" Armstrong in OH on Jan. 1808 when she was 25 years old. He was 35. (Robert's first wife was Tishatoons.)
Their children were: Silas (Jan. 3, 1810 - Dec. 14, 1865); Hannah (January, 1810 - April 19, 1824); John McIntire (Oct. 7, 1813 - April 11, 1852); & Catharine L. (1817 - June 8, 1909).
Robert & Sarah were Methodists. She continued her affiliation with the church after Robert's death in 1823. Sarah died on Feb. 22, 1844, when she was 61.
