Age 76 of Hermitage tn., passed away Monday, July 9, 2007 after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Nashville and a son of the late Albert Bauman and Ruby Englert Vaughn. He was a graduate of Vanderbilt University where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He was the retired President of Aircon Sales in Nashville. After his retirement, he received his LPN from Metro-General, where he then worked for 10 years. Al had a passion for flying and was a well-known flight instructor for over 40 years. He was a member of the Harbor Island Yacht Club, the old Old Hickory Flyers and St. John's Lutheran Church in Donelson. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Belva Anne James in 2004; and sisters, Bumpy, Evelyn and Emma Jean. He is survived by his loving family, four children, one son-in-law, one daughter-in-law, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr.Vaughn is at Mount Olivet Funeral Home, where funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, with Reverent Rick Roberts officiating. Interment to follow at historic Mount Olivet Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of HIYC and the old Old Hickory Flyers. The family would like to thank Dr. Ruth Lamar, Dr. Bruce Richards, the angels at Alive Hospice at Saint Thomas and Reverend Rick Roberts for their love and care.
