Mrs. Davidson in Final Sleep
After seeing the great west grow from the horse and wagon days to its present development, Mrs. Margaret Davidson, 83, died this morning in a local hospital.
With her husband, the late John D. Davidson, she came to the Inland Empire in 1882, traveling all the way up the coast from California in a wagon drawn by horses. The journey was made in company with the J.R. Davidson family of Reardan.
Settled Near Reardan
Mr. and Mrs. Davidson settled on a homestead near what was then the town of Gravell, situated near the present town of Reardan. After Mr. Davidson's death about 20 years ago, Mrs. Davidson moved to Reardan. For the past 10 years, she has resided in Spokane with a daughter, Mrs. Grace Shoemaker, whose home is now at S411 Cedar. She is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Daisy Irvine of Ritzville; two sons, Frank D. and Will, both of Chelan; four grandchildren, and a great-grandchild, Alvina Mary Schalock of Waukon.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday from the Smith Funeral home, with interment in the Reardan cemetery. [Spokane Daily Chronicle; 8.6.1931; p. 1]
Age 83 years. She was a resident of S411 Cedar, having resided in Spokane for the past 49 years. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Grace Shoemaker of Spokane, Wash., and Mrs. Daisy Irvine of Ritzville, Wash.; two sons, Frank D. and Will, both of Chelan, Wash.; 8 grandchildren, Harold, Don and Norma Hanes and Mrs. Gilbert Schalock all of Waukon, Wash.; Loren Shoemaker of Kennewick, Wash.; Orno and Vincent Shoemaker of Spokane, Wash., and Villy Davidson of Chelan, Wash., and one great grandchild, Alvina Mary Schalock of Waukon, Wash.
