Mr. Darnelle Howe, 92, a long-time resident of Oakland, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2019, at the State Veteran’s Home in Oxford. He was born October 14, 1927, in Oakland to Ethel and Gertrude Burns Howe. Darnelle served our country in the US Army and enjoyed a long career with the US Forest Service. Darnelle loved gardening, hunting and baseball. He was a Methodist.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the Goshen Cemetery near Coffeeville under the direction of McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service.

Though Darnelle never married, he was a loving uncle who leaves behind many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lenora Fly and Mae Donaldson and three brothers, Wallace Howe, E.B. Howe and Aubrey Howe.

Pallbearers will be Bubba Howe, Butch Howe, Ray Durdin, Charles Fly, Dynamite Kirk and Buddy Neal.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McKibben and Guinn Funeral Service in Grenada, Mississippi.
