John "Eddie" Outland, age 81, of Marion, passed away December 18, 2014 at home, surrounded by his family. Born in La Rue, November 27, 1933 to the late Russell and Helen (Albert) Outland, he was a graduate of La Rue High School in 1951. He served 2 years in the Army and was a past member of the La Rue Kiwanis. He retired from Whirlpool after 40 years of service. On December 10, 1963 he married Sheena J Siders who survives. Also surviving are daughter, Kelly Outland (Chad Bolinger); son, Todd Outland and grandson, Dakota Howell, who loved his Papa very much; sister, Lillian Roberts of La Rue and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Sisters-in-law Carolyn Nimtz and Stella Stevens, brothers-in-law Kenneth Siders and Emmett (Cheryl) Gehres survive. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Michael Hayes and Marion General Hospice Staff. Family will receive friends and family from 1 until 3PM Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Gunder/Hall & Folk Funeral Directors where funeral services will be celebrated 10:30AM, Monday, December 22, 2014 with Father Thomas Buffer presiding. Burial will follow at La Rue Cemetery
