Services for Pearl Gilbert will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 21, 2019 at Hilliard Funeral Home with Rev. William N. Wilkinson officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. before the service, and a graveside will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery.
Pearl Laverne Allen Gilbert was born February 9, 1930 in Athens, Texas to the late Loren Elijah Lonnie Allen and Leila Levira Luce Allen. She worked in janitorial services for many years and was a homemaker. She had been a resident of Cleveland for 3 years, formerly living in Rusk.
Pearl passed away at the age of 89 on October 16, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Austin Gilbert; five brothers, Wilbur, Elmer, Truman, Troy and Lloyd Allen; and sisters, Eunice Davis and Ivy Davis.
Survivors include her sister, Thelma Easter of Gatesville; brother, Floyd Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
