Georgia Roberta Bain was the daughter of Robert and Edna Etta Plested Bain. She grew up in Audubon County where she attended rural schools and later Adair High School where she graduated in 1933. She then attended Iowa State College, and graduated from Drake University.
On May 28, 1939, she married Leon Klemish and they started farming near Guthrie Center. They moved to their farm in the Canby area in 1948, where Georgia lived until recently. Leon preceded her in death in 1984. She also taught rural school around Adair and later at Adair-Casey Elementary School before retiring in 1970. She was active in the community; was a member of the Canby Friends Church and the Ladies Aid; and had served on the board of directors of the Adair Community Health Center for several years.
She was preceded in death by her parents ; her husband; and one sister, Zoe Clifton.
