Barbara (Carson) Martin, 81, of Brady, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013, in Eden. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel in Brady with burial at Fife Cemetery.
Barbara was born Aug. 10, 1931, in Eldorado, to Meredith Carson and Irene (Marshall) Carson. She married H.D. Martin Nov. 22, 1951, in Mason, and was a lifelong resident of McCulloch County.
Barbara was an LVN and worked for several local doctors through the years. However, most will remember her as a salesclerk for Lintz Department Store and then Evridge Furniture for many years. Barbara loved people and enjoyed helping others. She especially loved her family and took great delight and pride in her grandchildren.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Betty Henderson and Marjorie Neal and one brother, Chan Carson.
Survivors include her husband, H.D. Martin of Brady; two sons Jimmy Martin and wife, Teresa, of Eula and Michael Martin and wife, Jo Anne, of Brady; one sister, Sally Britteon of Brady; six grandchildren, Brent Martin, Jennifer Whisenhunt, Tanner Martin, Hunter Martin, Raegan Ely and Evan Martin; ten great-grandchildren, Jordan, Colton, Hanna, Tucker, Elliott, Alyssa, Madalynn, Dana, Holt and Eden and numerous nieces and nephews.
