Floyd Newton Drake of Waco passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021, peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. A graveside service will be at 11 A.M., Saturday, August 21, at Waco Memorial Park. Floyd was born October 28, 1929, in Houston, Texas, to Floyd Newton Drake, Sr. and Florence Mildred Wilkinson Drake, Ferrell. He was a "jack-of-all-trades" and wore many hats throughout the years and eventually retired from Houston Lighting and Power Company. His most important roles in life were being a loving husband, father, and friend to countless others. On February 22, 1952, he married the love of his life and best friend, Mildred "PeeWee" Slough. When Tina Drake was born, June 29, 1952, their family unit was complete. In their years of marriage, they traveled around the United States in their RV, across the ocean to Hawaii, and spent numerous summers and spring breaks camping with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Florence Drake Ferrell and Floyd Drake, Sr.; and his sister, Wanda Drake Hansen. He is survived by his wife, Mildred "PeeWee" Drake; daughter, Tina Drake Koenig; siblings, Stewart Drake, Beverly Drake Christian, Barbara Reeves, and Robyn Smith; grandchildren, Kia Holly, Ashley Keslinger, and Jessica McCollum; numerous great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and not to leave out his sweet "furbaby", Prissy. Officiant, Rev. Brandon Frenzel. Pallbears: Zack Hooper, Toby Holly, Ken Koenig, Howard Hansen, John Michael Slough.
