Johnny Baer, 77, of Dumas, TX died on October 16, 2019.
Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel, 500 N. Maddox. Burial will be at the Dumas Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Dumas.
Johnny was born on July 22, 1942 to Lawson and Gladys Baer in Amarillo, TX. He graduated from Dumas High School in 1961 and from West Texas State University with a B.S. in finance. He worked for RJ Reynolods Tabacco Company. He owned Borden Milk Company. Johnny then went into farming and ranching. He worked for the Dalhart Prison from 1998-2007.
Johnny enjoyed fishing, jeeping with his family and friends, riding horses, and boating.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father.
He is survived by his daughters, Kelly Stringer and husband Blake, and Becky Fults and husband Alvin; grandsons, Kyler Sullivan, Colton and wife Morgan Fults, and Cade Fults; granddaughter, Kaitlin Sullivan; step-grandchildren, Avery Stringer, Sydne Lawrence and husband Michael; brother, Dr. Stephen Marcus Baer and wife Rebecca; nephew, Joshua Baer and wife Britney; niece, April Miller and husband Micah; and his best friend for life, Nita Baer.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M., Friday, October 18, 2019, at the funeral home.
