James L Ostrander, age 73, of Blue River, passed on Sunday, October 13th, 2019. James was born June 10, 1946 in Boscobel, the son of Verne and Faye (Boak) Ostrander. He graduated from Boscobel High School in 1964. James was a faithful member of the Richland Center Free Methodist Church, until he became ill and moved to Illinois to be closer to his daughters. He found great pride working for Ravoyac in Fennimore, WI for 26 years. James enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, and being with family. His faith was number one to him and family came a close second. He loved socializing with friends and loved ones. He was a faithful Christian and would read the bible yearly. James had one last motorcycle ride this past May and he loved every minute of it.

Survivors include: his two daughters: Melissa (DJ) Kehoe of Rockford, Illinois; Lorissa (Obaro) Odoh-Tadafe of Wonder Lake, Illinois; four grandchildren: Suzannah and Maxwell Simpson, Tristan Kehoe and Ogheneruno (Runo) Odoh-Tadafe; brothers and sisters: Ronnie (Virginia) Monroe of Milton, WI, Delbert (Charlene) Monroe of Machesney Park, Illinois, Verna Puckett of Muscoda, Jerry (Suzette) Monroe of Boscobel, Mona Jean (Gordon) Faust of Seneca, Missouri; his mother-in-law: Avis Hilleshiem of Richland Center; sister and brother in laws: Sherry (James) Hilleshiem of Richland Center, Linda Alf of Troy, IL, Terry (Cathie) Hilleshiem of Richland Center, Jeff (Julie) Hilleshiem of Richland Center; Carol Hilleshiem of Richland Center; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

James was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years Diane Ostrander; his father Verne; his mother Faye; his father in law Delmer Hilleshiem; his brothers: Ryland Monroe, Robert Monroe, Alva Monroe and Raymond Monroe; his sister in law Willa Monroe and his brother-in law Rick Alf.

Visitation and Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 19 at the PRATT MEMORIAL CHAPEL in Richland Center, WI. Visitation will be from 10AM to 12pm. Funeral services will start at 12pm. Burial will follow at the Richland Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the PRATT MEMORIAL CHAPEL on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 12:00 PM. The family suggests memorials be directed to the Richland Center Free Methodist Church in lieu of flowers. The Pratt Funeral service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
