Gerald was born March 20, 1936 in Cleveland and he is a life long resident of Bradley County. He was the son of the late Mae Graves Sneed and Miles Lincoln Sneed. His son, Eric Sneed also preceded him in death.
Gerald was a 1954 graduate of Bradley Central High School. He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran serving in the Korean War. He worked 30 years for Combustion Engineering and he worked 5 years with Duracell all in Maintenance before retiring. Gerald loved the outdoors including working in his yard, exploring, the mountains and traveling. You could also see him Hardees, a place he enjoyed eating. He was a 42 year member of the Hampton Drive Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Imogene Sneed of Cleveland, his daughters, Yvonne Holloway and her husband Keith, Leshia Collins and her husband Mitch all of Cleveland, his sons, Lebron Sneed and his companion Paula also of Cleveland, Mark Sneed and his wife Pam of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, his grandchildren, Miranda Sneed, Haley Bailey and her husband Bryan, Evan Holloway and his wife Taylor, Justin Walker, Brandon Walker and his wife Ashley, Alison Weir, Miles Collins, Derek Sneed, Galie Posey and her husband Cody and Sarah Sneed, his 12 great grandchildren, his sister, Helen Willis and her husband Bob of Cleveland, his brothers, Edward Sneed of Cleveland, Donald Sneed of Louisville, Kentucky and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 8:00 P. M. at the Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services North Ocoee Chapel with Reverend Lee Ingram and Reverend Ray Cheatham officiating. Graveside Services and Interment will be held privately for the family.
