Betty Jean McLeroy was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Lubbock to Vida and Hobert Bohannon. She passed from this life July 8, 2007, in Lubbock at the age of 77.
Betty grew up in Lubbock, where she attended school. She was then married to J.T. McLeroy, and they settled in Lubbock, where they raised two children, Ronnie and Diane. Betty had worked in sales for both Target and T.J. Maxx stores. Betty was an outgoing lady who enjoyed working in her garden and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Ronnie McLeroy of Tuttle, Okla.; a brother, William Switzer of Lubbock; two grandsons: Aaron McLeroy of Tuttle, Okla. and Jarod McLeroy of Carrizo Springs, Texas; one granddaughter, Keena Crawford of Lubbock; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.T. McLeroy; her daughter, Diane Crawford; and her son-in-law, Grady Crawford.
Graveside services will take place on Wed. July 11, 2007, at 10 a.m. in Resthaven Memorial Park of Lubbock. Visitation will take place on Tues. July 10, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home.
