Mary DeBusk passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008, at University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born June 1920, in Albemarle County, to the late Walter Roscoe and Rhoda Breeden West.

She is predeceased by her first husband, Herbert Davis; and her second husband, Louis DeBusk. She was a dedicated caregiver when each of her husbands were ill. She was also predeceased by an infant great-grandson, Brendan Worley.

Known as Mary, Mom or Nannie, some of her favorite things were her family first, working in the yard of her home, helping to care for her grandchildren, exercise classes at the Senior Center, volunteering at the Senior Center and the Baptist Clothing Center, LOFT meetings and being an active member of the JOY Sunday school class at First Baptist Church.

Mary was retired after 20 years working for Food Service at Newcomb Hall, where she met her second husband.

Her survivors are her two daughters and their husbands, Gracie and James Parks, Frances and Russell Worley, of Charlottesville; five grandchildren and their spouses, Kelly Baramki and Adel of Charlottesville, Karen Ayer and Henry of Poquoson, Virginia, Wally Parks and Susan of Cismont, Virginia, Vernon Worley and Michelle of New Orleans, Louisiana, and Yvonne Williamson and Ramon of West Lafayette, Indiana. Also surviving are two sisters and their husbands, Annie Clements and Roy of Woodstock, Maryland, and Alice Brower and Harry of Charlottesville; and 12 wonderful great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 17, 2008, at the Hill and Wood Chapel, with her grandson Vernon Worley officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
