Sally Marie Mancuso

Sally Marie Mancuso (maiden name Melanson), 84, of Katy, Texas, passed away 9 October 2019. She was born in Gibson, Louisiana on 28 February 1935. Sally graduated from Lafayette High School with the Class of 1953. She attended college at Southwestern Louisiana Institute in 1954 and 1955 and was an English major. She was married to August Rodney Mancuso Jr. (deceased), of Houston Texas, on 28 January 1956.
Sally professed Jesus as her savior as a young girl, was a devout Catholic for many years and enjoyed studying the Bible with R. B. Thieme, Jr., Bible Ministries as an adult. Sally was a loving mother, homemaker, and an actor at the Pasadena Little Theater. After her husband passed away in 1980 she returned to Lafayette and worked as a caregiver to the elderly for many years as a Certified Nurse Assistant. She had a passion for helping the less fortunate and served as a volunteer at Katy Herman Memorial Hospital. She was also very active as a volunteer at the Richmond State Supported Living Facility in Richmond, Texas, where her daughter Eleanor is a resident.
She is survived by her sons August (Gus) Mancuso, Anthony (Tony) Mancuso and daughter Eleanor Mancuso. She is also blessed to have six surviving grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Richard Melanson and sister Patricia Melanson.
A memorial service will be held at Katy Bible Church, 2500 Avenue D, Katy, TX, on Sunday, 3 November 2019 at 3PM. Committal Service 11:00 am - 12:00 pm FOREST PARK LAWNDALE.
