Buried in the same plot as her daughter and son-in-law. The funeral service of Mrs. Alma Cox, of 9, Princes Buildings, Bath, who died at her home, took place at St. Matthew's Church on Saturday, December 2, 1939, the Reverend Evans, vicar, officiating. She was the widow of John Henry Cox, of Somerton, Somerset, a bootmaker, who once made boots in London for King Edward the seventh. He died in 1907, leaving one son and five daughters. Since his death, she had been living at Widcombe, where she was one of the oldest residents, and the oldest member of the St. Matthew's Mothers' Meeting. She was a devout and God-fearing woman. Her favourite hymn, "Jesu, Lover of my soul," was sung at the church, also Psalm 23. Many members of the church were present. The interment followed at St. James's Cemetery, the Rev. Evans officiating [1, 2].
