For eleven years before her marriage she lived with a sister in Chicago. She was married to Rev. F. W. Hullinger, who was then principal of the public schools at Bloom, Dec. 23, 1873. She accompanied her husband to Oberlin, Ohio, where he was a student in the college and returned and lived again in Chicago while he attended the Theological Seminary. She afterward resided in Dundee, Mich., Milton, Wis., and Chenoa, Ills. For two years she was matron of the Worcester Academy while her husband was principal. For the past two years she has been a resident of Windsor, Mo.
During the latter part of the time her health gradually failed, and on August 20th, after a protracted illness, she fell asleep, aged 36 years and 8 months.
Appropriate funeral services were held at the residence at 8 p.m., Rev. J. G. Bailey officiating. The remains were then conveyed to Bloom, Ills. for burial. Rev. Wm. Morrow, of Chicago, delivered the funeral address in the Presbyterian Church of which she had been a member in her youth.
The floral offerings were beautiful and appropriate. Among them was a large wreath of white roses upon an easel of smilax bearing the words, "Our Sister," in purple amaranths; also a floral sickle -- tributes from her sister and Mrs. Mary Brokaw. The remains were interred in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Hullinger's life was one of self-denial for others for the sake of the Master. Her readiness to service endeared her to all who knew her. She has laid down the cross to wear the crown. A true help-meet to her husband in his labors as pastor and teacher, she bore her share of every burden. An affectionate wife, a loving mother, patient in illness, resigned in death, sorrowing to leave her family but resting in the full assurance of faith, she passed peacefully into the life beyond.
She has rested from her labors and her works do follow her.
