Died: 11-29-2003 KYLES FORD — Paul Hurd, age 88, Kyles Ford died Saturday, November 29, 2003 at Sunbridge Hillside Nursing Home, Kingsport following an extended illness.
He attended Walnut Grove Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII. He farmed all his life and was a life long resident of Kyles Ford.
He was preceded in death by a son, Paul M. Hurd.
He is survived by his wife, Kate Hurd, also of Sunbridge Hillside Nursing Home; a son, Kenneth Hurd, Webber City, VA; a grandson, Jason Hurd, Church Hill; a granddaughter, Michelle Shelton, Yuma, VA; three great-grandchildren, Autumn Hurd and Tyler and Brooke Shelton; two sisters, Lorene Sizemore, Church Hill and Nancy Horton, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, December 1, 2003 at Colboch-Price Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Sloan officiating. Hawkins County Color Guard conducted military honors on Tuesday, December 2, 2003 in the Hurd Cemetery, Kyles Ford.
Colboch-Price Funeral Home, Rogersville was in charge of the arrangements.
