Funeral services for Elizabeth will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2019 with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating. Public visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery, following the funeral services.
Elizabeth Balllard was born on October 24, 1938 in Seymour, Iowa, the daughter of Ernie and Marie (Roberts) Ballard. She was raised and educated in the Seymour School District where she attended school through the 12th grade. Elizabeth was a hard working woman, dedicating over 25 years of her working life with the Iowa Veterans Home in the Linen and Laundry department. She enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her dog: Angel.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Pam Schoenhut of Montour, IA, Jean Baker of Tama, IA and Kendall (Marlys) Moore of Gladbrook, IA; step-children: Beverly, Susie and Missy; 13 Grandchildren; 13 Great-Grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Raymond Mitchell; daughter: Joan Otten; son: Kip Moore; two sisters; one brother: Edwin Ballard of Newton, IA and two dogs: Mickey and Ms. Willow.
