Suggested edit: Hello! I just recently discovered this website. I did a family history book on Shutterfly for my dad last year and this is the bio I wrote for my Grandaddy. I am very interested in researching/linking all of my family members. Thank you.

Billy was the youngest child of Lottie Bell (Hester) Clark and Vester V. Clark. Billy had an older half-brother, Hester (McDaniel), who belonged to Lottie from a previous marriage. He also had an older half sister, Maudie Belle, who belonged to Vester from a previous marriage. He grew up helping his parents on the farm which consisted of row crops and 2-3 sows which turned 20-30 pigs twice per year. He graduated from South Fulton High School in 1945 and enlisted in the Navy as a clerk, but the war had pretty much ended by the time he had gotten out of high school. He was only in the service for a short time because his only brother was killed in action in Tunisia. After getting discharged, he went back home to farm. He courted and eventually married the love of his life, Marion Yates. They eventually had 2 children, David and Gary. Over his lifetime he quadrupled the size of the farm taking it from Vester's 60 acres to 280 total acres as well as putting in a 500 head hog barn which was state-of-the-art for the time. He also worked for the ASCS which is now known as FSA (Farm Service Agency) as a surveyor for around 10 years. In his lifetime he loved 3 good women and played the role of Granddaddy amazingly. He just loved people. His hobbies included farming, fishing, hunting, playing cards, and eating tacos. We couldn't have had a father, grandfather, or great-grandfather who loved us more. And we so love & miss him.
