Nancy Katherine Carter

Nancy was born in Jasper, Texas and lived a full life focused on Christian faith, family and music.

She met her husband Paul Carter when they were in high school. He invited her to the band prom, she accepted and the rest is history. They were married on Nov. 24, 1960.

Her musical journey began at age 12 with piano lessons. As an member of the Sweet Adelines, Nancy directed the the Chisholm Trail Chorus. She was Director of Musical Activities for Region 10 Sweet Adelines.. She took the Region 10 Star Chorus on two trips overseas. The first trip took 100 women to Denmark and Russia. The next trip was to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji.

She sang with the Alamo Metro Chorus and was their Associate Director. She and Paul were members of the choir at First United Methodist Church in Rosenberg. Nancy also was the Director of The Kingsmen barbershop chorus. She and her Kingsmen traveled all over the Houston area bringing music to many groups and facilities.

Nancy is survived by her husband Paul, sons Mark Stephen Carter (Kristie) and James Paul Carter (Elena), grandsons Kristopher Stephen Carter, Mitchell Kyle Carter and Anthony James Carter.

A Memorial service for Nancy will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Rosenberg on Sunday, October 6 at 5:30.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 pm at Adams E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville,Texas on Wednesday, October 9.

Burial will be in Magnolia Springs.
