Sharon Kay Compton, 73, of Chanute, KS, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 in Chanute. She was born November 27, 1945 in Stark, KS the daughter of Willard and Alice (Laver) Allen.

On September 14, 1963, Sharon married Harold Compton in Tijuana, Mexico; he preceded her in death in 2018. She worked as a school bus driver for the Brea-Olinda School District in California for many years. She also enjoyed taking care of other people and cleaning houses. Sharon enjoyed gardening and flowers even though she said she had a brown thumb and couldn’t grow any. She most of all loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed.

Sharon is survived by Son: Delwin Compton and partner Barb Hutson of Chanute, KS; Siblings: Juanita Barker of Chanute, KS, Robert Allen of Chanute, KS, Cheryl Allen of Broken Arrow, OK, Mildred Arlena Moore of Chanute, KS; Grandchildren: Jennifer Eisenhardt and partner Trevor Williams, Christopher Compton and partner Charley Scholes, David Compton and partner Sabrina, D.J. Compton and partner Kenzie McMillan; Great-Grandchildren: Carter Compton, Wesley Compton, Audrey Compton, Isbella Compton and Harlee and Bentley Williams; Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Jeffrey Scot Compton and David Alan Compton and sisters, Marjorie Mullins and Barbara Culp.

Cremation has been requested. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 10 am at Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, KS. Online condolences may be left at: www.countrysidefh.com
