Allan “Swede” William Beavens, age 62, of Askov, MN passed away on October 5, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake, MN.
Allan “Swede” William Beavens was born on April 27, 1957 to Leon “Bud” Beavens and Lois Michog. Swede had nine siblings and had grown up on a dairy farm in Bruno, MN. In 1976 Swede met his sweetheart Nancy Habdas. He had his eyes set on her and on September 26, 1980 he made her his wife. They had a small beef farm in Askov, MN where they had three children, Brandon, Bradley, and Ashley. Swede worked hard to provide for his family and for many years he drove truck to haul wood, plow snow, and deliver gravel. Swede loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed the challenge of fur trapping. His love for the outdoors was immeasurable. He enjoyed driving the country roads and looking at deer and other wildlife. Swede had many friends and always entertained the with his jokes and sense of humor. He was a man that was true to his word and for that everyone respected him.
Swede is preceded in death by his parents and step mother, Valerie Beavens, his two sons Brandon and Bradley. He is survived by his wife Nancy; daughter Ashley Beavens; grandchildren, Kendra Beavens, Gavin Beavens; siblings, Roberta (Steve) Ordahl, Diane Gabrielson, Mike Beavens, Kate (Jeff) Beier, Deb (Tim) Tollgaard, Vicki (Marty) Monette, Leon (Julie) Beavens, Patty (Rick) Volk, John Beavens; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Swede on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 3 p.m. at the Askov Community Center. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the community center also.
