Carol Jean (Sandberg) Peterson was born on July 9, 1943 in Duluth, MN, the daughter of Palmer Sandberg and Marlys (Olson) Sandberg. She was united in marriage to Allan Peterson in August of 1977. Carol worked at several of the local manufacturing plants in assembly, but her consistent occupation was as the bookkeeper for her husband’s business.
Carol’s family was her number one priority. She was always available to lend an ear or some advice. She always said an extra prayer for anyone in need or suffering. Carol was a collector of several different items and always had an interesting collection as her family would shower her with gifts of whatever her interest was at the time. She loved garage sales and on several occasions when she saw a sign along the road, she would make that quick and unexpected turn in to check it out. She loved to read romance novels, do crossword puzzles, play piano, and was an exceptional cook. Carol was a good friend to many, and a favorite among her many acquaintances.
Carol is survived by her husband Allan, children; Dayna, stepchildren; Robin and Scott; grandchildren: Joel, Cortney, Jacie, Dylan, Nick, Travis and April; great grandchildren: Brady, Joey, Abigail, Hailie, Kaden, Colson, Cooper and Kinsley; sister, Catherine; nephews: Kenneth and Terry.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marlys and Palmer Sandberg, daughter Carrie Gallegos, mother and father in-law Alice and Olaf Peterson, two brothers-in-law Dennis Peterson and James Larson, great grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A private burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
