Biographical Notes:
Parents of Nicholas were Saul J. Nayfack and Annie Schenck, both natives of Russia. (Annie was Nicholas Schenck's younger sister.)

Nicholas first married a well-known film and stage actress Virginia Reid Sampson (Lynne Carver)--they applied for a license in Yuma, Arizona, on July 18, 1937. They divorced in May of 1942. She second married William J Mullaney.

Nicholas second married Patricia Ann Schmidt on 7 Feb 1946, in California. Patricia was the daughter of Edgar Schermerhorn Schmidt and his wife Charlotte Kreek (later Campbell), who married on June 25, 1919. But the marriage did not last, as they were divorced by 1925.

Nicholas and Patsy had a son, named for his father, born to the couple in 1946, in Los Angeles.

A talented man, Nicholas was a producer at MGM studios for many years, before forming his own production company. He had producing credits on at least 14 different films.

Although widely reported that his cause of death was a heart attack, his death certificate recorded “aspiration of gastric contents with laryngeal obstruction”.

May this accomplished man be honored here, as well as by the films he produced.
