Walter H. Furler, 88, of Allentown died on April 10, 2012 at his home at Luther Crest. Husband of the late Ella E. (Heckman) Furler who died in 2005. Mr. Furler was born in Allentown, son of the late Paul and Mabel (Snyder) Furler.

He was a charter representative for the former Lehigh Valley Transit Company for many years and later was a Real Estate Agent for Don Frederick Real Estate in Allentown.He served in the US Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Allentown. He was a member of the Church Council, stewardship committee, pastoral care committee, money counting team, gave lay sermons and Gideons Bible. When he moved to Luther Crest he was a member of the Spiritual Life committee, coordinator of the HOPE volunteers and a lay assistant to Rev. Dianne Kareha.

Survivors: Daughter-in-law, Susie Furler; three grandchildren, Eva, Mark and Sarah; two great-grandchildren, Juniper and Joshua. Predeceased by son, Rev. Robert W. Furler; two brothers, Carl, Lester; and sister, Eleanor.

Services: Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Pauls Lutheran Church 36 S. 8th St., Allentown. Viewing 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the Church. Funeral arrangements are by the Sell-Herron Funeral Home 1145 Lehigh Street Allentown.
