LEO ALEC HARMAN is the son of John King Harman and Mrs. Olivia Lee Parker Harman. He is the paternal grandson of John King Harman and Mrs. Elizabeth Heath Harman. He is the maternal grandchild of John Parker and Mrs. Martha Ross Parker.

He is one of four children born to his parents' union. His siblings include Hattie Olivia Harman, Otto Ross Harman and Homer King Harman.

He is the husband of Mrs. Bennie Agnes Bicknell Harman whom he married on June 30, 1929 in Cass County, Texas. To their union, their daughter, Dorothy Lee Harman, was born in 1936, in Harrison County, Texas.

His wife, his parents and his siblings preceded him in death.

"Graveside services for Leo Alec Harman, 93, of 3213 Fritz-Swanson Road, Kilgore, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Algoma Cemetery South, in Marshall, with Bob Bryant officiating. Arrangements under the direction Sullivan Funeral Home. Mr. Harman died at 12:16 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 1997, at Good Shepherd Medical Center, in Longview, after a sudden illness. He was born May 3, 1904, in Marshall, the son of John King Harman and Olivia Lee Harman. He received his education in the Marshall public schools and College of Marshall. He was married to Bennie Agnes Bicknell. She preceded him in death. Mr. Harman worked in the Store Department of the Texas & Pacific Railroad, of Marshall, for 45 years. He was a member of Cypress Valley Bible Church, of Marshall, and the Brotherhood of Railroad & Steamship Clerks. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy Lee and Larry G. Emmons, of Kilgore; five grandchildren who are fifth generation Texans, Kathy Louise Hawkins McCommon, of Longview, David Roberts Hawkins, of Longview, Dorothy Elizabeth Hawkins Roberts, of White Oak, Jillian Hawkins Zhorne, of Gladewater and Christy Lee Hanson, of Fort Worth; and seven great-grandchildren, Dee, Allen, Katherine, Lauren, Maleah, Joshua and Meagan. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Sullivan Funeral Home on Travis Street, in Marshall."
