Dennis was born May 13, 1932 in Hyden, KY., the son of the late, Brack Combs & Opha Johnson Combs. He had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. By occupation Dennis had worked as a coal miner & carpenter. He was affliated with the Church of Christ. Dennis enjoyed hunting (especially deer hunting), fishing, woodworking, gardening & spending time with his family (especially his granddaughter, Sophia).
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Brack & Opha Johnson Combs, one infant brother, Johnny & four other brothers, Woodrow, Meril, Ed & Jerry Combs and two sisters, Edith Combs & Dorothy Day. He leaves the following relatives surviving; loving & devoted wife of 60 1/2 years, Bessie Lewis Combs of Hyden, KY., one special son, Charlie Deppenmeier of Hyden, KY., two sisters, Linda Day of Hazard, KY. and Carolyn Sandlin (Philmore) of Hyden, KY. and one treasured granddaughter, Sophia Grace Deppenmeier. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive.
Funeral: Saturday, October 5, 2019 @ 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY.
