Kate Parsons (Jennings) Caldwell was born on December 21, 1868 in Palmyra, Montgomery County, Tennessee, the daughter of John M Jennings (1834–1914) and Eliza Ann Tennessee "Tennie" (Outlaw) Jennings (ca Jun 1832–ca 1912). {Parents John and Tennie were married December 9, 1862 in Montgomery County. When John died on August 1, 1914 in Dickson County, he was listed as buried in Jennings graveyard. but that cemetery's location has not been determined.}

She was married to Orville Bradley Caldwell (ca 1866–9 Dec 1918) on April 18, 1894 in Dickson County, Tennessee, the son of Abriam Ballard Caldwell (ca 1818– ) and Mary Elizabeth "Bettie" (Godby) Caldwell (ca 1832– ).

Living at 1000 Bryan Street in Old Hickory, Davidson County, Tennessee, Kate was 85 years old and a widow when she died on September 24, 1954 at home of uremia due to "Renal stones producing obstruction".

Survivors included daughter Mrs Eva Dowdy of Sylvia, Tennessee, sons John A Caldwell of Madison, Tennessee, Dee J Caldwell of Nashville and William B Caldwell of Camden, South Carolina, sister Miss Rachel Jennings of Old Hickory, brother Paul Jennings of Dickson, Tennessee, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a 2nd-great-grandchild.

Funeral Services were held on September 27th at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, and burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery, Madison {city, not county}.
