Lois Myers Caywood, widow of Emery W. “June” Caywood, Jr., passed away peacefully at the Hospice Care Center, in Lexington, Kentucky, on October 2, 2019, after an extended illness, having attained the age of 93 years. She was born on January 15, 1926, in Nicholas County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Guy S. and Bessie Bromagen Myers. She was a graduate of Carlisle High School, a retired WIC Coordinator for the Bourbon County Health Department and a member of Spears Mill Baptist Church.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Henry A. Myers. Survivors include: a son, Wayne (Sidney) Caywood, III; a grandson, Emery Caywood, IV; four sisters, Mildred McIntyre, June (R.L.) Duncan, Janice Boyle and Carol Hatton; and a brother, Wayne (Carolyn) Myers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 7, at Hinton-Turner Funeral Home, with Rev. Phil Ronk officiating. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., prior to the service, with a private interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Spears Mill Baptist Church or one’s favorite charity.
