FOUND BODY OF DROWNED MAN
Sonora May 18 - The body of Jas Barwell, who drowned in the Stanislaus river on the 13th instant, while assisting i the search of the stream for the remains of his brother-in-law, Tom Jenness, who was drowned several days before, was recovered last Wednesday. The body was lodged face downward on a rock in the center of the river which had gone down about four feet within two days. The rock on which the body lodged was not over 350 yards below the point where Barnwell, while trying to swim the stream with one end of a wire that was to serve as a guy rope for a raft, became exhausted and called out, "I'm all in!" and an instant later was swept out of sight.

TRYING TO FIND BODY
Fifteen men are engaged in dragging the Stanislaus river in the hope of recovering the body of Tom Jenness, a well known timber land owner of Tuolumne county, who is supposed to have been drowned near the ford which is made in going to Beardslee Flat from Strawberry. Jenness left with two horses, both of which have been located. The river bank shows where the animals entered and left the stream, but no trace of the rider has been found up to this time. Besides a brother, J Jenness, there are three sisters; Mrs C A Wetmore, Mrs James Barnwell and Mrs Long.
